Question: I have forgotten whether I still have an account with you. How can I verify that, without opening a duplicate?
Answer:Please call our member services department at 1-800-270-2688 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Pacific Time.
 
Question:I am entering my I.D. and password but unable to gain access to the site.
Answer:Unsuccessful logins may be caused by several different factors including:
  • Incorrect I.D./password - The I.D. and password are case sensitive and must be entered with the identical upper and lower case letters that were originally chosen.
  • High Network Traffic - Difficulty logging in may be the result of high traffic on the server. This is not caused by a problem with the EmplawyerNet site. Simply resubmit the Login page until it is accepted.
  • In General - If you continue to experience a problem gaining access to EmplawyerNet call our toll free number at 1-800-270-2688 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Pacific Time. We will verify that your account is active and working correctly. If you continue to experience a problem after we have verified that your account is functioning correctly you will need to contact your Internet access provider.
 
Question:What do I do if I change my email address?
Answer: To receive job mail and/or net work mail at your new address, simply alter the email address that appears in your personal profile. To access your personal profile, log in and click on the "Personal Profile" link. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-270-2688 or Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Pacific Time if you encounter any difficulty.
 
Question:Why am I not receiving any Job Mail?
Answer:Open your Personal Profile and verify that you have clicked the button to receive job mail and that your e-mail address is listed correctly. If you have received Job Mail in the past, but not recently, this may be either because you have selected parameters for conducting a very narrow search or your area of interest may not presently be one with a large number of openings. You will receive more mail if you expand the scope of your search.
 
Question:The volume of Job Mail is too much. What can I do?
Answer:You may be receiving so much mail because the parameters selected for receiving job mail are set for a very broad job search. We suggest that you log-in, open Personal Profile and reset some of the job search criteria so that your search will be more narrowly tailored. Or, you may stop receiving Job Mail altogether by opening your Personal Profile and turning off the Job Mail delivery. Then you can log in and run a periodic Job Search on your personal criteria.
 
Question: How do I make changes to my Personal Profile?
Answer:Log-in with your ID and Password to view your existing Profile. Make your changes, then scroll down and click "Submit New Profile". To view your newly updated Profile, use your "Back" button to move back to the Member Menu, and click "Personal Profile" again. Please note that all changes made in the Personal Profile section will automatically update our databases.
 
Question: How are employers able to view my qualifications?
Answer:You can list the highlights of your professional qualifications in your Personal Profile section. Employers then have the ability to view these credentials on-line.
 
Question: What happens if an employer is interested in my qualifications and wishes further information about me?
Answer:We maintain a resume bank for all members who wish to have their resume on file with us. If an employer is interested in your credentials we will receive a request for your resume. We will then fax your resume to the employer. Whether the resume will be sent anonymously or with your name attached is your decision. You may remain anonymous to employers by selecting this preference in the Personal Profile section. If an employer continues to express interest in your candidacy for employment you may reveal your identity after the employer's identity has been revealed to you.
 
Question: How do I list my current experience while remaining anonymous?
Answer:We recommend that you list your present place of employment as anonymous in the "Professional Experience" box. When you code your Personal Profile as anonymous, your current employer remains anonymous as well. For example, you could identify your current employer as "AV-Rated, Top 100 Los Angeles Employment Law Firm". This provides the important qualifying information, without compromising anyone's identity.
 
Question: How do I email my resume when responding to an ad?
Answer:Open a blank e-mail and type or paste-in your cover letter. Space down and insert your resume. (If your resume is in MS Word, Select All, Copy and then Paste into the blank e-mail.) Check for any formatting that may have been lost in the text you have copied and pasted. Put the Job Code given (if any) in the ad on the Subject Line of this e-mail. It is now ready to send.
 
Question:When I attempt to log in I am returned to the Login prompt.
Answer:This problem may be caused by the security settings on your browser. To solve it, you need to configure your browser to accept all cookies. For Netscape Communicator, click "Edit," "Preferences," "Advanced," "Accept All Cookies" and click OK. For Microsoft Explorer, click "View," "Internet Options," "Security," "Custom Level," scroll down to the "Cookies" section, select "Enable" on both options and click OK.

A cookie is simply an HTTP header that consists of a text-only string that gets entered into the memory of a browser. This string contains the domain, path, lifetime, and value of a variable that a web site sets. If the lifetime of this variable is longer than the time the user spends at that site, then the string is saved to file for future reference. Question: How do I keep the Job Mail text from running off to the right of my screen?
Answer:Open your Netscape browser and choose "Edit", "Preferences", "Mail & Groups", "Messages" and select "Wrap Long Lines at 72 characters". Click "OK" to apply change.
 
 
Question: How do I cancel my account?
Answer:Please call the Customer Service department at 1-800-270-2688 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Pacific Time or e-mail your request of cancellation to: membership@emplawyernet.com
