RODENT TALES

A legal secretary in Atlanta went to jail for forging $155,000 worth of checks from the account of her boss. The secretary forged 122 checks over a year and a half time period. Checks went to pay the secretary's mortgage, insurance premiums and newspaper subscriptions in addition to items ordered from Victoria's Secret and Frederick's of Hollywood. The secretary was sentenced to one year in prison and five years probation. A partner at the firm where the secretary worked before being sentenced said that "She was an excellent employee ... and had all the things you want in a legal secretary – a great attitude and she had done a terrific job.'
