POSITION SUMMARY This position will work as part of a team of attorneys and contract professionals responsible for the drafting, negotiating, and processing of contracts for Grifols’ North American business units. This position presents the opportunity for a successful candidate to receive specialized training and to develop skills that open possibilities for a long-term career path within Grifols. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Draft, review and negotiate contracts, including those related to procurement, quality, distribution, and clinical research. Track and measure progress through collection of cycle time metrics and other quality key performance indicators (KPIs). Communicate metrics, KPIs, and other relevant project information to team. Propose solutions to issues that may arise during contract life cycle. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. J.D. from a well-respected academic institution required. Admission to a state bar is required, preferably California. Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceuticals industry and/or equivalent in-house or law firm experience. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with an excellent ability to issue spot and integrate legal advice with business goals. Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment, as it relates to healthcare compliance in the pharmaceutical industry including anti-kickback statutes, government fraud and abuse, off-label promotion, and anticorruption laws. Project management experience desired. Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment, as well as in a small team environment and become a productive and positive member of the legal team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate concisely. Some domestic and/or international travel as needed.
