Technology Transactions and Commercial Attorney - Redwood City, CA


C3 IoT is seeking an experienced Technology Transactions and Commercial Attorney to support its product, sales and services teams. The confluence of machine learning, big data, cloud computing, and new forms of human-computer interaction are driving the emergence of a multi trillion-dollar Internet of Things (IoT) market and disruptive transformation in multiple industries. McKinsey & Company estimates this market will grow to an annual economic impact of $3.9-11T by 2025 from sales of enabling products and technology, optimization of existing processes, and the development of entirely new offerings and markets. C3 IoT is a leader in this explosive market. C3 IoT is a computer software company delivering a comprehensive platform as a service (PaaS) for rapidly developing and operating big data, predictive analytics, and IoT software as a service (SaaS) applications. C3 IoT also offers a family of configurable and extensible SaaS products developed with and operating on its PaaS. The C3 IoT Platform and SaaS applications are proven at petabyte scale at a rapidly-growing number of large industrial corporations, including healthcare, discrete manufacturing, financial services, aerospace, integrated energy, utilities, and oil and gas companies. Recent examples of successful engagements include supplier network risk management, supply chain optimization, chronic disease prevention, customer spend prediction, and equipment lifetime optimization. Key Responsibilities Draft, analyze, negotiate and complete complex commercial transactions with C3 IoT’s enterprise customers and strategic partners. Collaborate with the product, sales and services teams to achieve key business objectives. Assist to improve and implement use of templates, “playbooks,” and policies. Work with stakeholders on data privacy and security, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property matters. Required Skills & Experience Qualified candidates will combine superior academic credentials with relevant industry experience and have a record of successful delivery of complex, multi-faceted projects. Specific requirements are: 5+ years technology transactions experience, including 3+ years at a premier law firm. JD degree from a top U.S. law school; B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or similar field is a plus. Deep substantive knowledge of SaaS, PaaS and other software licensing and distribution, strategic alliances, channel sales and distribution models, intellectual property, and privacy and data security. Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Must be a motivated self-starter able to multi-task in a dynamic environment. Ability to work both, independently and collaboratively across diverse teams. Additional relevant experience is a plus: Target industries: Software, IoT, AI, Big Data; Energy; Financial Services; Life Science; and/or Manufacturing International experience Knowledge of Defense Acquisition Regulations System.
